Formal complaints are about a specific issue that a consumer is having with their insurance company or insurance coverage. Complaints are required to be in writing and the Division requests specific information about the company's name, type of coverage, policy number, claim number, description of the issues, and a statement of what resolution is desired. Consumers can file complaints electronically through the Division's website, by email, or by letter.
